									Goal:  To create a work of art dealing with your personal identity. The goal is to express how you view or see yourself, and how you think other people see you.  (Note: Identity includes issues such as race, gender, national identity, class, status, personality, looks etc…) For part one, you will create a worksheet using google docs.<br><br><br>Overview:  Every year in advanced photography, I have had students pose against a white backdrop in the studio and take a photograph with a medium format film camera.  Students then printed out the photograph in the darkroom on 11 inch x 14 inch black and white photo paper.  Then they used colored pencils and markers to write words and draw on the photograph to describe how they see themselves on one side, and how they think other people see them on the other side (see the attached example below).  Since we can't use the darkroom this year, we are going to do a variation on this idea.<br><br><br>Website with 300 descriptive personality words:<br>https://7esl.com/adjectives-that-describe-personality/<br><br><br><br>Directions:<br>1.  Open up google docs<br>2.  Write the sentence starter, "The way I see myself is..." and then write down 30 individual words that describe yourself<br>3.  Write the sentence starter, "The way I think other people see me is..." and the write down 30 individual words that describe how you think other people see you.<br>4.  Submit the doc to google classroom<br>

									Goal:  Use Photopea to adjust your photo to match the background photo<br><br><br>Overview:  The last step will be to adjust the brightness, contrast, color balance, and saturation of your photo so that it matches the background photo on your poster, and then add a shadow if it needs it.<br><br><br>Directions:  <br>1.  Open up your file from part four into Photopea<br>2.  Click on the layer containing your photograph in the layers window to activate it.<br>3.  Click on the "Image" tab at the top and choose "Adjustments" and then "Brightness/Contrast".  When the window opens up, adjust the brightness and contrast sliders until they match the brightness and contrast of the background photo.  Then click "OK"<br>4.  Click on the "Image" tab at the top and choose "Adjustments" and then "Hue/Saturation".  When the window opens up, adjust the "Saturation" slider until the color saturation matches the color saturation of the background photo.  Then click "OK"<br>5.  Click on the "Image" tab at the top and choose "Adjustments" and then "Color Balance".  When the window opens up, adjust the three color sliders until the color matches the color of the background photo.  Then click "OK"<br>6.  You may need to add a shadow to make it look that you are casting a shadow.  <br>     a)  Create a new layer by clicking on the "Layer" tab at the top and then choose "New" and then "Layer". The new layer should be below the layer with you on it and above the background photo in the layers window.<br>     b)  Choose the color black in the color picker<br>     c)  Click on the "Brush" tool in the toolbox on the left.  <br>     d)  Use the paint brush to "paint" in a shadow below yourself.  After you paint it, click on the "Opacity" slider in the the layers window and adjust the slider until the shadow looks natural and blends in.<br>7.  Save your work as a PSD file and a JPG file.  <br>8.  Add the JPG version to your "Graphic Arts" page on your weebly web site.<br>9.  Copy the link and submit the link to google classroom.  <br><br><br>

									Goal:  Use the "Type" tool to add the movie title and credits to your Movie Poster<br><br><br>Overview:  Every movie poster includes the movie title, the actors, and the credits.  The last and final step is to use the type tool in photo pea to add those elements.  Consider the following as you create the title and credits: (see the attached file below for a visual example)<br>      -Be sure to use a font style that matches the theme or feeling of you movie<br>      -Add effects (drop shadows, stroke, etc...) to make the title stand out and easy to read against the background<br><br><br>Directions:  <br>1.  Open up your movie poster file from Part Three in Photopea<br>2.  Use the "Type" tool to add the movie title.  You can call it "Attack of the Giant (Your name)", "The Incredible Shrinking (your name)" or make up your own original title.<br>3.  Use the "Type" tool to add who the movie "stars" or actors.  You can use your real name or use actual actors names.<br>4.  Add the credits:  The credits are always small and at the bottom.  Include "Directed by..." 									Goal: Take or Find a background photo and add it to your photo<br><br><br>Overview:  Now that you have the background cut out of your photo, it's time to take or find an appropriate background photo and add it to your photo.  You can get one off the internet, or take one.<br><br><br>Directions:  <br>1.  Take or find a background photo.  I'll leave it to you to decide you want to take a photo or find a good one from google images.  Important factors are:<br>      a) The angle and depth of field in the background photo must match the angle and depth of field in the photograph of you.  <br>      b) If you use Google Images, filter only Large images<br>      c) Movie posters are always vertical, so take the photo vertically or choose vertical photos only.<br>2.  Open up the photograph of you with the background removed into Photopea<br>3.  Click on the "File" tab and select "Open and Place".  Navigate to your background photo and click "Choose for Upload"<br>4.  Move the photo of you on top of the background photo by going into the layers window and click on the layer with the photo of you and drag it above the layer of your background photo.<br>5.  Save and download the photograph as a PSD file by clicking on the "File" tab and choose "Save as PSD".<br>6.  Submit the file to Google classroom by adding the file.<br>
