Photography Teacher

About Me

I am a 4th generation Oakland California native.  My parents moved to Dublin California when I was young and I graduated from Dublin high School.  After high school I moved back to Oakland and attended San Francisco State University where I graduated with a BA degree in Cinema.  I continued my education working towards a Masters degree in Cinema.  Along the way I supported myself by working in the photography field.  I enjoy all the Arts, and my primary interest in photography is as an Art form.

I began teaching photography at San Lorenzo High in 1998.  Back then, we made photographs the traditional way in the darkroom. There was no such thing as the iPhone, and digital photography was an emerging and expensive technology.  Today we still use the darkroom, but we now have a dedicated complete computer lab with Photoshop, and the cameras and equipment are digital.  We also have a professional photo studio.  I am happy to say that we have one of the best facilities for photography of any high school in the Bay Area.
Here are my office hours for the duration of Distance Learning:
Wednesdays 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM
Wednesdays 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
