Ms. Wickner's Teacher Page

I was born in California, grew up partly in Los Angeles and then moved to rural Vermont with my family. I attended Bowdoin college in Maine. After earning my BA in history and anthropology, I got a masters of curriculum development from University of Michigan Ann Arbor and a teaching credential through Mills College.
I started my teaching career in 2001 after jobs as a park ranger and an archaeologist. I feel privileged to learn (and laugh) with my students over two decades. I love having a job that keeps me engaged as a critical thinker and inspired by students everyday.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two sons. We love backpacking, hiking, road trips, and traveling.
