English 11-1 Assignments

For your final project, you are going to create a slideshow to document some parts of your experience during the Corona Lockdown.

Use the slideshow below -- it has all the instructions and slides you will need. Get creative and make it interesting. Hopefully this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and you can look back on this slideshow when the Lockdown is a distant memory.

You can select three options to research. They can be three different types of options (i.e. one four-year college, one two-year college, and one military branch) or they can be three of the same type (i.e. three different four-year colleges). Mix and match as you wish. You can complete the notes on the Google Docs linked here or you can write them by hand on a separate paper.

It's the last week of National Poetry Month! Enjoy the last poem and extra credit assignment.

EXTRA CREDIT

You can complete the map on Slides, print it out, or make your own version on paper.

Complete all sentences and submit when done. Due Friday 4/10.

Hey, friends! April is National Poetry Month! Here is a short extra credit assignment you can do. I will post more throughout the month.

Extra credit! Visit Button Poetry's YouTube channel. Find a poem you love. Type up an explanation of why you love it and what the poet's message is. Include the title, poet, and a link to the poem. Done!

Go to the link below and create a three panel comic strip that reflects one of the main events in the book:

1) Holden at Pencey (talking to Ackley or Stradlater, chatting with Mr. Spencer)
2) Holden and Sunny or Maurice
3) Holden's date with Sally
4) Holden talking to Carl Luce
5) Holden and Phoebe

(Or choose another scene from the book that you think is important)
