Quick in-class review of combining like terms

This is our work due on Wednesday. We need to review how to use the Distributive Property and how to Simplify/Combine Like Terms.

Refer to the end of our class recording from April 19/20 for a quick refresher, or look up these concepts on YouTube for helpful videos.

This is our work for today. We need to now practice solving these equations.

If you took notes during our previous classes, some of these problems have already been solved for you.

In the attached Google Doc, type a one-page document:
a) First half of the page: Give me a short history about autism in the US. (when was it discovered, when was it classified as a disorder, what work is being done for it today?)

b) Second half of the page: Tell me about a time where you interacted with a person who may have had intellectual disabilities. Were you nice, or were you mean? Would you have done anything differently if you could go back? OR...maybe YOU have a diagnosed or undiagnosed intellectual disability - Do you feel like it impacts your daily life? What strategies have you used to cope with it?

In the attached Google Doc, type a one-page document:
a) First half of the page: Give me a short biography about your a female inventor (past or present).

b) Second half of the page: Tell me how or why this person's invention has impacted your own personal life
- OR -
b) Second half of the page: Tell me how this person has impacted your own personal life.

For each of the six functions on the worksheet, state the:
- x-intercept(s) & y-intercept(s)
- maximum (or maxima) & minimum (or minima)
- interval(s) of increase & interval(s) of decrease
- domain & range

a) First half of the page: Give me a short biography about your most inspirational member or members of the African-American community (past or present).
b) Second half of the page: Tell me how or why this person has impacted your own personal life.

1) Listen to the song in the YouTube link

2) In the attached Google Doc, write two paragraphs (3-5 sentences each):
a) - What is the meaning of this song? Use specific examples from the song, if you can, to prove your point.
b) - Does this song apply to you in your life/school/family? Explain how it does or does not.

If you were absent from class on Jan 28/29, you will need to watch the Jan-28 Recording to complete this assignment.

To turn in, do one of the following:
1) Create a table on the Google Doc that I provided to organize your answers
-OR-
2) Do your work on a separate piece of paper and upload a picture of it.

REMEMBER TO SUBMIT THE ASSIGNMENT AFTER WORKING ON THE DOC OR UPLOADING YOUR PICTURE!

Sorry for posting this so late in the weekend. The good thing about this assignment is that it should only take about 15 minutes if you were taking notes with us a few days ago! :)

1. Complete the READY section (don't do the SET section) for Module 1.4 on a SEPARATE piece of paper --OR-- print the page out for yourself to work on.

2. When finished, take a high-quality picture of all work --OR-- scan it as a .pdf using Apple Notes, Adobe Scan, or any other pdf-scanning app.

3. Attach all files of your work and then click "Turn In".

And you're all done! :)

(This assignment is to be completed AFTER the Monday and Tuesday (9/14-9/15) classes)

1. Go to Module 1 in our online textbook. (Look under "Class Information" if you have not downloaded the textbook onto your computer yet.)

2. Complete the READY and GO sections for Module 1.2 on a SEPARATE piece of paper --OR-- print the pages out for yourself to work on.

3. When finished, take a high-quality picture of all work --OR-- scan it as a .pdf using Apple Notes, Adobe Scan, or any other pdf-scanning app.

4. Attach all files of your work and then click "Turn In".

2) Take notes of whatever you learned from the video.

3) Completely fill out the Google Form

4) View the new problem in the Google Slide

5) Try your best to answer those questions and keep your answers for next week!

6) Click "Turn in" after you complete the Google Form ONLY (do not attach any work for the new math problem on the Google Slide!)
