Mr. Aguilar's Teacher Page
About me.
I was born and raised right here in the East Bay! Here's my story in a few sentences: I graduated from San Lorenzo High in 2018! Back then, I had been Student Body Secretary, Vice President, then President. After I graduated, I ran a campaign for School Board, won, and have served in that role since 2018. As a political consultant, I have also worked on political campaigns from the Presidential level down to School Board. I graduated from San Francisco State University with my BA in Political Science, then National University with my MEd in Inspired Teaching and Learning.
When I'm not teaching or politicking, I love LEGOs and having a great time and discovering more in the most beautiful city in the world: San Francisco. I'm an avid fan of the TV show Doctor Who, love the Ghostbusters series, and am overall a big ole nerd.
Courses I teach.
AP Psychology
In AP Psychology, eleventh and twelfth graders dive into the field of psychology. Throughout the year, they learn of the biological bases of human behavior, human cognitive abilities, social psychology and personality, and mental and physical health (with an introspective into careers in psychology).
Ethnic Studies
In Ethnic Studies, ninth graders get an in-depth look at who they are as people before they learn the history of the country's most marginalized communities as well as the roles of race, privilege, and oppression in society.
Courses I have taught.
Over the course of my career, I have taught Government/Economics, Critical Ethnic Studies, Sheltered US History, World History, and Values in American Life - a course at San Francisco State University.
