About Me
This year marks the start of my 19th year of teaching in the San Lorenzo Unified School District, with 17 of those years at San Lorenzo High School. From 2015 – 2017 I served in the Peace Corps as an English Education volunteer in Moldova. Travel is one of my passions, and I have spent time living in Japan and Iceland, in addition to the two years in Moldova. In the summer of 2019 I taught in China for two weeks with the Bay Area Writing Project.
This year I will be teaching English 11, ELD Content 2 and Drama. During my time at San Lorenzo High, I have directed numerous drama productions including The Laramie Project, the House on Mango Street, In and Out of Shadows, She Kills Monsters, student written adaptations of Our Town and Much Ado about Nothing, and a student-created documentary theatre piece titled The Russell City Project.
I received a B.F.A. in Drama from California Institute of the Arts, and an MFA in Education from UC Berkeley. I have been a Teacher Consultant with Bay Area Writing Project since 2010.
