Ms. Makker's Teacher Page
About Me
I was born and raised in California, and am proud to call it home. My parents emigrated from India in the 1960s and '70s, and I have strong ties to Indian culture. I love living and teaching in the East Bay, because it gives me the opportunity to be surrounded by people from so many diverse backgrounds.
I graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2000 and completed my M.A. in Education from UC Berkeley in 2003. I have been teaching at San Lorenzo High since 2002 and I can't imagine teaching anywhere else! My students and colleagues make me laugh every single day, which is absolutely the best part of choosing this career path.
Outside of school, I love to travel, read, spend time with my family, and eat lots of yummy food.
